Heaps）35年来向数百名女性伸出狼爪，受害者集体提出告诉，指控校方蓄意隐瞒希普斯的罪行。校方8日宣布，将向203名原告支付2.436亿美元赔偿金。受害女性表示，等这一天已经等了20年。
《美联社》报导，希普斯担任UCLA校内妇产科医师长达35年，去年5月被控犯下21项性侵7名女性的刑事重罪。该校8日宣布，该校同意支付2.436亿美金，与203名女性达成和解，每人将获得120万美元。
受害者指控，校方数十年来忽视她们的声音，隐瞒希普斯的罪行，放任他接触更多病患。UCLA于2017年开始调查，希普斯则于隔年退休，但他始终坚称自己无罪，否认有任何不当行为。

Cagle）罹患罕见乳癌，8年前正接受痛苦的疗程时遭遇袭击，「我无法想像有人如此卑鄙，痛苦到我哭了出来。我为所有未能幸免的女性感到心碎。」
