综合美联社报导，美国迈阿密40年屋龄的12层公寓香普兰大厦南栋（Champlain Towers
South）于6月24日凌晨倒塌，造成98人罹难。迈阿密今日又有1栋8楼公寓大厦被检测出不安全，数百名住户因此被要求在今日早上前离开。
外媒表示，该建筑已违反多项规定，包括未能获得每40年1度的安全居住检测认证。迈阿密建筑总监马雷罗（Asael “Ace”
Marrero）表示，因为大楼承包商在未获授权的情况下进行了整修，降低了结构的完整性，因此这栋建筑并不安全。迈阿密建筑部门及公寓协会等人员也发现该栋大楼的柱子有「结构上的不足」，因此才要求住户撤离。
市政府官员表示，目前正与该栋大楼住户合作寻找临时住所。
