自发布城市居家命令以来，蜿蜒的小径，街道和公园已成为野生动物的新出没地，推特上的目击野狼的照片愈来愈多，最奇妙的包括，它们在市中心的街头上散步；一头野狼出现在金门大桥下的海滩，正在欣赏大桥的美景。
野狼原本生活在湾区附近的树林中，由于人类活动减少，它们开始独自或者成群结队地探索空旷的街道和人类的住宅。
推特网友罗伯特·曼（Robert
Mann）拍到：一头野狼，站在屋顶，居高临下，甚有气势。曼说，住家位于市内的蒙特利岗(Monterey
Heights)，附近居民最先在街道上看见该头野狼，于是驱赶，它进入一处住家的后院，然后再爬上屋顶，只差没有登堂入室。
爱护动物的人说，野狼自由自在地享受旧金山，这是好事，但也有人担心，野狼四处出没，十分危险；4月中时，一名5岁大女孩在市内的都布林山公园(Dublin
