老照片：1968年，张国焘和家人在加拿大的全家福

1968年，加拿大多伦多，张国焘和家人留下的全家福。镜头下，张国焘和妻子杨子烈坐在前方，儿子和儿媳则站在身后。彼时张国焘已年过古稀，身穿黑色马褂。妻子则握着小孙子的手。当时他因走投无路，不得不流亡加拿大，投靠他的儿子。

晚年的他因为中风生活无法自理，只得住进了免费的养老院，那里生活条件很差，生活艰难可想而知。1979年，82岁的他病死于异国他乡，连安葬费都无从所出！
