剧情简介：Dr. Eugene Fguson (Cary Grant), a renowned Amican brain surgeon, and his wife Helen (Paula Raymond) are vacationing in Latin Amica when a revolution breaks out. They are taken against their will to the country’s dictator, Raoul Farrago (José Fr), who urgently needs a life-saving opation.
Ov the next few days, while Fguson trains assistants for the delicate opation, he witnesses various acts of brutality by the regime, especially by Colonel Adragon (Ramón Novarro), but his Hippocratic Oath compels him to do his best.
Roland Gonzales (Gilbt Roland), the rebel lead, kidnaps Helen to pressure h husband into making a fatal surgical “mistake.” His message to Fguson is intcepted by Isabel Farrago (Signe Hasso), the patient’s wife, and the opation is a success. Helen is released unharmed when Farrago dies soon aftwards and his govnment is ovthrown.
